good times....

Is this couple gorgeous or what? But besides that, they were super cool. They didn't let the pressures of the wedding day get to them and they just had fun and enjoyed each others company.

Boston Trip.

Our trip to Boston this past month was AMAZING!!! I love being in New England because you can feel the history surrounding it. Its great to be standing on the soil where everything started. I'm a history geek so I get really excited for these things. I really like the New England style homes. Their architecture is so nice and old fashioned. I like the country side on the East coast; I like how peaceful it is, but I must admit, I get really scared come night fall. It seems like it gets pitch dark at night over there compared to the west coast, and with neighbors being so far away, its a little scary.



One of my absolute favorite things has to be the seafood!! I love seafood and nothing is better than fresh seafood.

That lobster was huge!! I couldn't finish it. I actually took it back to our hotel room and I finished eating it at 1:30 in the morning! Rebekah was laughing so hard.


These are pictures of Crane beach, about 35 miles Northeast of Boston.

The Boston Freedom Trail takes you trough downtown boston to all the historical sites that lie within the city.

You start at the Boston Common where you can go with a tour guide that will take you to all the points on the Boston trail and tell you the history behind each one of them.

 

The Shaw 54th Regiment was the first official unit made up of all African Americans

 to serve in the Civil War.

 

Next, you see the Massachusetts State House.

The Park Street Church was built in 1809 by Englishman, Peter Banner, 

who came to America to practice architecture.

Some of these headstones date back to the 1600's!

King's Chapel. Symbol of what the Puritans fled. In 1630 the Puritans settled Boston after fleeing the corruption they saw in the Official Church of England (Anglican Church). About a half a century later, King James II ordered that an Anglican Church be established in Boston. No Puritans would sell any land for the building of such church, so in 1687 Governor Andros simply seized a corner of the burying ground for the building of the church.

During our walk we stopped at this cute bakery shop. Everything looked so yummy!

Site of the Boston Massacre & the Old State House.



If you are looking straight towards the state house and turn completely around you see the street where the massacre took place. Paul Revere drew a sketch of where bodies fell.




The house were Paul Revere lived.

We didn't get a chance to see all the historic sites, but I was so happy with what we saw. Walking through the streets of Boston looking at all these historical sites, it almost felt like you were back in the colonial period. I would have loved to see the colonies when they first started and the buildings that have been built since have great history to them.
